This is olive oil, and contrary to what you might think, it doesn’t make your food taste like olives. The health benefits it offers practically demand a place of priority in your kitchen, so your meals can be that much healthier for you and your family. 

So why is olive oil so great? This is one of the only oils that not only reduce your chance of developing some cancers, but it fights heart disease at the same time! These antioxidants can be measured generally by looking at the type of olive oil you’re buying. For example, if the bottle says “extra virgin olive oil,” that just means it has the highest level of antioxidants that olive oil can offer. Other types of olive oil may have slightly less or even have a specific flavoring added. You can experiment with them to see which you prefer and what your family enjoys the most. 

Of course, with anything like this, you need to be aware of who is manufacturing it. There are high standards when it comes to not just harvesting the oil, but also storing it, shipping it and generally helping it retain as many health benefits as possible until the consumer eats it. Make sure you know how a company works before you spend money on the olive oil they produce. When you do this kind of shopping, then no matter when you choose to eat, whether it’s after or before a great workout, you’re going to get a nutritious meal that tastes great!
